We do our best to anticipate our guests’ needs and comfort. We maintain the standards of a top notch Burlington, Vermont hotel.
Free, safe, on-site parking (one space per guest bedroom)
Breakfast! We serve a full breakfast every morning from 8 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Wi-Fi is provided to our guests at no charge (there are routers in the main house and in the Carriage House). For guests who do not travel with their laptops or tablets, we have a dedicated guest computer and printer.

Flat-screen HD TVs and cable (including HBO channels and music channels)
Spring/Summer — AC window units in all guest bedrooms and common areas
Fall/Winter — Dedicated heat thermostats in each guest bedroom
Each guestroom has:
- Hairdryer, Toiletries*, Turkish Towels, Make-Up Cloth, Robes & Slippers
- Wine glasses, water glasses & carafes, an ice bucket and a corkscrew/bottle opener (There is an ice machine in the inn kitchen.)
- Super soft sheets (triple sheeting) & pillowcases; four, down-alternative bed pillows (no down bedding)
- Land-line telephone for contacting front desk/kitchen or other guest bedrooms (local and toll-free calls are free)
Should you need them, we have:
- Ironing boards and irons
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Razors and shaving cream
- Ear plugs
As a designated Green, Burlington, Vermont Hotel, we no longer offer bottled water in guest bedrooms. There are spring water dispensers located in close proximity to all guest bedrooms and in the refreshment area on the main floor.
Bicycle Storage from May through October (covered and safe storage area). Be sure to bring along your bicycle lock.
When we close the inn each night we forward calls to a message center – if guests misplace their keys and are locked out of the inn, answering service personnel contact the nightly on-call staff member. We are always ready and available to help!
*Guest bathrooms are stocked with environmentally friendly products. BeeKind bath soap, conditioning shampoo and lotion are provided as a bathroom amenity. As a Green Hotel, we prefer these Gilchrist & Soames products because the paper bottle offers (quoted from the Gilchrist & Soame’s web site) “59% reduction in packaging material by weight and a 92% reduction in waste space compared to rigid plastic bottles.” The product contains honey and certified organic extracts of chamomile, calendula, red clover, and lemongrass. We applaud the fact that a portion of this product’s net profits supports honey bee and sustainable pollination research.
LANG HOUSE INN POLICIES (Updated for COVID-19 safety and minimal staffing)
To ensure all of our guests have the most memorable experience we ask that you take a moment to review the Inn’s policies listed below.
Room Rates: Our room rates are based on single or double occupancy. A full breakfast is served each morning to guests, and it is included in the room rate. For rooms that can accommodate a third person (not applicable for children under 5 years old), we charge an additional fee of $30/person plus tax.
Room rates vary throughout the year. Use the online booking engine to see room prices for your dates of interest.
DEPOSIT: We are not taking deposits for new reservations. We require a credit card to hold your room for you.
Online bookings require a 3-day notice from today. For same day reservations or if you have a Lang House Gift Certificate or a credit in any amount please e-mail or call the inn.
CANCELLATION POLICY: We are trying to be as flexible as possible during these trying times. We understand that the State of Vermont Travel Restrictions and Guidelines dictate who can safely travel to our state. We ask that you be mindful that we are a small business trying really hard to keep our head above the water. For bookings made prior to the pandemic, there are no penalties for COVID-19 related cancellations.
If a guest shortens a reserved stay after arrival at the Lang House, the guest will be responsible for any room nights that we are unable to rebook.
There will be no deposit refunds for weather-related cancellations, including cancelled airline flights.
Minimum Stays: As of 4/15/2021 we require a two-night-minimum reservation for all stays.
Inn Staffed Hours:
7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Daily (Breakfast service only)
Check-In Time: 3:00 p.m. Guests check themselves in and are asked to use the back-door entry only. Check in information will be provided to you close to your check in date via an automated text message. We are unable to accommodate early arrivals.
Parking & Entering the Lang House: One space per guest bedroom is provided free of charge. There is a horse-shoe shaped driveway around the back of the inn that leads to our parking lot. Guests should enter via the back entrance of the inn (there is a short set of stairs and ramp leading to that entrance) when ready to check in.
Check-Out Time: 11:30 a.m. Please drop your keys off at the front desk or kitchen, and settle your bill.
Housekeeping: Know that we are following Vermont Department of Health and the federal CDC guidelines for keeping everyone safe. Our guest bedrooms have been altered to comply with these health and safety restrictions. Also, when guests are in residence we are discouraged from entering the guest bedroom; so there are no housekeeping services. Just let us know if you need anything!
Breakfast: We serve breakfast each morning between 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. Guests must sign-up the night before so we may accommodate everyone in a safe and socially distanced way. We are currently only offering a savory egg based dish. You can always request a plain scramble with toast.
Dietary Restrictions: If you have significant dietary restrictions (e.g., food allergies, gluten sensitivity, vegan preferences, etc.), please let us know in advance of your arrival date so that we can accommodate your needs. Our breakfast meats are always offered as an option, so vegetarians are accommodated daily.
Non-Smoking Inn: The Lang House is a smoke-free inn. Guests who smoke in their rooms or in any other interior space on the property will be assessed a clean-up charge (minimum fee of $200). No candles or incense either, please!
Children: Our philosophy is that we want our guests to feel as though our house is an extension of their house. We happily accommodate children. Well-behaved children are appreciated by both our guests and staff members!
Pet Policy: Guests’ pets are not permitted at the inn. Guests who ignore this policy will be asked to leave.
If you have a severe allergy to dogs, please let us know. There is a small resident dog who frequents the common areas.
Bicycle Storage: You can lock your bike up near our shed at the back of the property. Bring your own locks!
